FAQ

Q. What's the difference between Botox and fillers?

A. Botox relaxes muscles to smooth wrinkles or slim the jawline, while fillers restore volume to hollow or sunken areas.

Q. Can I resume daily activities right away?

A. Yes, most patients can return to daily life the same day.

Q. How long does Botox last?

A. Typically 4-6 months.

Q. For a first time, which comes first, botox or filler?

A. At Pretty Body and Line Clinic, we use botox for the square jaw, the forehead, the outer corners of the eyes and the glabella, and filler for the lips, nasolabial folds, nose and chin. It depends on whether your concern is wrinkles or volume. Wrinkles caused by muscle, such as those that appear when you make an expression, call for botox, while a hollow that casts a shadow needs volume filled with filler. For a first time it may feel unfamiliar right after the procedure, but it gradually looks more natural over time.

Q. What happens to filler over time? Can it be reversed?

A. Hyaluronic acid filler can be reversed with a dissolving agent, so it can be adjusted if you do not like the shape or if one side has formed a lump. Left alone, it is absorbed by the body and gradually diminishes between 6 months and 2 years depending on the product. Some types are difficult to reverse, so it is worth confirming which product is used during the consultation.

Q. What is the difference between thread lifting and laser lifting?

A. At Pretty Body and Line Clinic, we perform both thread lifting and laser lifting. They differ in how they lift and in the recovery period. Thread lifting inserts threads to pull sagging tissue up physically, so the change is visible immediately, but there is swelling and a tight feeling for a few days. Laser lifting delivers heat beneath the skin, so the change right after the procedure is small and appears over time. We decide by looking at the degree of sagging together with the time you have available for recovery, and sometimes we plan the two separately.

Q. Is there anything I should avoid after the procedure?

A. With botox, do not rub or massage the treated area on the day of the procedure. The agent can spread to neighboring muscles and weaken places you did not intend. With filler and thread lifting, do not press hard on or massage the treated area for a few days, and anything that raises heat and increases swelling, such as a sauna or heavy exercise, is best postponed until the swelling has gone down. Makeup over the treated area is generally possible from the same day, but it varies by procedure, so please follow the aftercare guidance you are given.

Q. How often should I have it done?

A. Botox generally lasts 3 to 6 months, and filler lasts about 6 months to 2 years depending on the product. At Pretty Body and Line Clinic we do not tell you to repeat it simply because that period has passed. We set the timing by looking at whether muscle movement has returned for botox and how much has been absorbed for filler. Even for the same procedure, how long it lasts varies with the area, the amount used and lifestyle. Repeating at short intervals is not always an advantage either.

Q. Does the director perform the procedure personally?

A. Yes. At Pretty Body and Line Clinic, the attending medical team handles everything directly from consultation through the procedure and follow-up, and we do not allow substitute treatment. Botox and filler may have the same name as procedures, but the result changes with which muscle receives how much and at which layer. That is why it matters that the person who looked at your face and made the plan is the one who performs it. We also check the result afterwards at the same place.
